PHOENIX MODEL MARKET ADDING SECOND NEXTGEN TV TRANSMISSION SITE AND SINGLE FREQUENCY NETWORK

NEW YORK – October 14, 2019 – As broadcasters converge on Manhattan this week for NAB Show New York, the Phoenix Model Market partners and Pearl TV today announced several developments that will positively impact the deployment of NEXTGEN TV signals throughout the country.  A second transmission facility for NEXTGEN TV broadcasts in Phoenix, AZ is planned for later this year that will power a Single Frequency Network (SFN) – the first market to have two transmission towers with a SFN configuration -- once the transmission licenses are approved by the FCC and the facilities are on-air.

SCRIPPS’ WMYD TELEVISION TO HOST DETROIT’S FIRST NEXT-GEN TELEVISION STATION

DETROIT, MI – May 15, 2019 – On the heels of last month’s announcement that TV broadcasters in the Top 40 TV markets will be launching Next-Gen TV services by the end of 2020, Detroit’s WMYD, owned by The E.W. Scripps Company (NASDAQ: SSP), today announced plans to launch the new broadcast TV technology in a collaborative effort that will also involve Graham Media Group and other local broadcasters.

Pearl TV and Eonti/DigiCert Take First Step Toward Secure ATSC 3.0 Television Services

Washington, D.C. – (April 5, 2019) – Pearl TV has reached an agreement with Eonti and DigiCert to provide a secure Industry Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to safeguard transmissions between a broadcast station and receiving devices. The system will be as seamless to the viewing public as accessing a secure website. As part of the agreement, Eonti (as the management authority) and DigiCert (as the certification authority) will issue X.509 certificates and operate an online certificate status protocol responder — both of which conform to the ATSC 3.0 Security Standard for Next-Gen TV.
